We are learning about minibeasts and this week we are busy learning about bees. Our story of the week, Bee and Me, has no words! Therefore, we are writing speech bubbles and captions for frieze frames using pictures from the story. We are learning some interesting facts about bees and even tasting some delicious honey! We have listened to flight of the bumblebee and drew how the music made us feel. This inspired us to design a bumble flight path and label it. Perhaps this weekend you can go on a minibeast hunt and see what bugs you can spot! Can you see any bees? Write a list of bugs you find. Tell your family some interesting facts you have learnt about bees.
In maths we are exploring a new resource—rekenrek! We are practicing our subitising skills and using “one push” to move a select number of beads along the line.
All sounds learnt:

Perhaps this weekend you could enjoy some delicious honey and use your sounds to write about the taste.
