The title of our story this week is; ‘Trust me, Jack’s Beanstalk Stinks!’ The author of our story is The Giant! We found out that the giant wasn’t so bad after all and came to the conclusion that Jack was actually a naughty, sneaky thief! We have been writing giant menus (they have strange diets!), using describing words to talk about giants and listening to and moving to harp music.
In maths, we have been practising number bonds to 10. By the end of Reception, we need to know our number bonds to 10. At home you could practise this using dried pasta, beans or toys. Gather 10 objects, count them and then split them into 2 groups. How many do you have in each group? How many altogether? How many ways can you make 10?
Phonics
Perhaps you could use your phonic knowledge to write a recipe fit for a giant, we came up with some great ideas this week:
“A sea of water”
“10 heads of broccoli”
“A field of horses”
“5 sacks of potatoes”
What do you think a giant would like to eat? Write it! Please bring in any work you do at home to show your teacher.
