Remember to talk to me about all the wonderful learning I have taken part in.
This week we have been reading the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. We have enjoyed tasting all the different fruits the caterpillar ate in the story, describing what they taste like as well as learning the days of the week. We became authors and wrote our own version of the story, deciding which food we thought the caterpillar might want to eat such as pizza and mangoes!
There has been a bit of a ‘foodie’ theme this week! On Friday we made fruit pies as part of DT day. We enjoyed mashing berries and molding shapes with pastry. We baked our pies in the oven and enjoyed them as a delicious afternoon snack.
We have been growing some vegetables in our veggie patch. We noticed the courgettes were ready to be picked, I wonder what recipe we could follow next week to cook them? Perhaps over the weekend you could research some courgette dishes!
In maths we have been doing lots of adding and writing number sentences using addition and equals symbols. Practise adding together quantities up to 10, for a challenge up to 20! You could add together your favorite toys, dry pasta or even fruit in the fruit bowl.
In phonics, we have been practising our letter formation, thinking of our own simple sentences and writing them independently.
Please practise forming the letters a d b e g as these are the ones we are finding most tricky!
