Today we are practising how to add 'ed' to the end of words to make the simple past tense.

We use the past tense when we speak about something that has already happened.

Watch the video and then look at the worksheet to practise writing in the past tense!

Fill in the gaps in the sentences using the past tense. Then check your answers!

At the start of the story, where is Frog sitting?

At the start of the story, why do you think Pup the Dog and Big Pig can't see?

Think back to what we learned last week about PLURALS. (If you can't remember, look back at last week's learning for Week Beginning June 8th 2020). 

 

Remember, plural means more than one.

 

To show we have more than 1, we add an s or es to the end of the word.  For example, 1 cat, 10 cats and 1 lunch, 3 lunches.

 

Remember we add es if the word ends in ch sh o zz x ss. Otherwise just add s!

 

(Sometimes we have to add ies to the end of the word - 1 city, 2 cities. Sometimes we have to change an f to v and then add or s or es. For example, 1 knife, 2 knives. In the game below, don't worry if you get the answers where you have to add ies or ves wrong. You will do more work on this later).
