This week we read the story Handa's Surprise. The story is about a girl called Handa who puts 7 delicious fruits into her basket for her friend Akeyo. On the way to Akeyo's village, some animals take the fruit from Handa's basket! But not to worry, a tree full of tangerines fall into Handa's basket which just so happens to be Akeyo's favourite fruit!
We have been busy retelling the story, playing African drums and got the chance to taste some exotic fruit! We tried pineapple, mango, guava, avocado, passionfruit, orange and banana.
Notices & Reminders:
- During the half term, you could go on a nature walk and collect sticks, conkers, pinecones and acorns. Please bring them to school to support us with our Woodland topic next term
- Please could all children bring at least 1 stick to school on Monday 30th October (the more the merrier)
- Ensure your child has a bag of spare clothes on their peg
- Ensure your child has a book bag or a suitable sized bag to take books, letters and artwork home in
