History and Geography at Mora
History and Geography at Mora aims to offer a curriculum that informs children of previous historical events, offers opportunities for source analysis, improves chronological awareness and ensures a greater understanding of geographical and environmental factors in the world around us.
Teaching is stimulating, exciting and inclusive for all, providing children with key life skills such as teamwork, empathy, communication, language, thinking and independence skills which develop children both academically and socially.
Children are encouraged during lessons to become either historians or geographers employing the skills that these professionals would need to study their chosen topic. A range of resources and activities are used to enhance the teaching of history and geography including trips, ICT, artefacts exploration and using subject specific equipment. These activities give children a greater understanding of their topics and they love getting their hands dirty!
