  • WORLD BOOK DAY MARCH 2023

    Thu 09 Mar 2023 F Mas

What a fantastic celebration we had!

For the first time ever, Mora Primary School hosted a BOOK TASTING where children ventured out of their comfort zone and sampled a wide range of books.

The fun continued with the Freshwater Theatre Company which made stories such as The Ugly Duckling and The Fearsome Giant come to life. Audience participation was a must.

What amazing storytellers we also have at Mora! Children created their own Six Words Storytelling and turned into performers.

Thanks to some amazing parents who provided us with some free books, all children went home with their favourite one to enjoy.

  • Children in Need

    Mon 21 Nov 2022

    *UPDATE*

Well done Mora. We raised a whopping £455 for Children in Need this year, smashing our previous efforts. Thank you to every family and individual who donated; there are children right across the country now benefiting thanks to your generosity.

    Dear Families,

    It’s time to get SPOTacular!

Mora will be joining in with BBC Children in Need to raise money to help children and young people all over the UK.

BBC Children in Need is here to make sure that every child has the childhood they deserve and the support they need to thrive. Children in Need fund thousands of charities and projects in every corner of the UK, that support children and young people to feel and be safer, have improved mental health and wellbeing, form better, more positive relationships and be given more equal opportunities to flourish.

On Friday 18th November, we invite your child to wear spots or yellow to school (non-school uniform day) and donate £1 or more to this extremely worthy cause. Donations can be made online at the following link. No money will be collected on site at school.

  • There’s a Rangtan in my Bedroom

    Fri 04 Nov 2022

What an amazing start to the new half term. For the first two days we were visited by the Little Angel Theatre Company for the premiere performance of There’s a Rangtan in my Bedroom, in a school. This eye-opening, emotional production tells the story of unnecessary deforestation and the tragic effect it has on the animals who call the rainforest their home.  The children sat mesmerised as the innovative story was retold by puppets.

“It was sad but it helped us learn about the terrible things humans do.” Year 2 child.

The children have used this performance as the stimulus for some fantastic writing this week!

  • Diwali Celebrations

    Fri 21 Oct 2022

This morning, Ms Siva and some helpers created beautiful Rangoli patterns on the pavement near the school gates, while we danced our way into school with Diwali music.

Diwali is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world.  This year Diwali takes place over five days from 22nd October to 26th October with the main day of celebration on Monday 24th November. Diwali, which for some also coincides with harvest and new year celebrations, is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

Happy Diwali to all of our families celebrating!
