Wow! The Mora Maths Extravaganza was a fantastic event. Some very clever children and amazing parents joined us for an afternoon of maths challenges and creating mathematical decorations. The tangrams puzzled a few, but the marshmallow models were a huge hit. Maths can be brilliant fun – at school and at home.
The Lego in the Jar competition raised £71 for the purchase of some maths equipment that all children will be able to use in their classrooms. There were a whopping 881 pieces of Lego in the jar. The winner was Dima from Jupiter Class (Yr 6) who guessed 880 pieces! Well done Dima; you are an estimating champion.

Don’t forget, as part of the Maths Extravaganza, we are running a competition to win a gigantic jar full of Lego plus 3 cool figurines! Who can guess the closest amount of Lego in the jar? It is 50p a guess! The sporting year has kicked off with the Y5/Y6 Mora Football Team playing their first matches. To begin the year, the boys played Malorees Junior School and have since played Salusbury Primary School. We are really proud of the boys for their teamwork, enthusiasm and supportive attitudes towards each other and the other schools they have played so far.
