  • Government Closure of Schools in Brent

    Thu 31 Dec 2020

    Dear Families,

The government has announced that schools in Brent will remain closed for the majority of the children for the beginning of this school term (to be reviewed by the 18th January). School will remain open from Wednesday 6th January for our vulnerable children and for children of critical workers.

Vulnerable children must continue to attend school as normal. Children of critical workers may also attend the school setting. Children will be taught in year group bubbles and will attend school at their normal staggered times.  To find out whether your child falls into either of these categories, please click on the following link:

All other children are required to stay at home and engage in remote learning. Remote learning will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and will include subjects from the broader curriculum. It is imperative that children continue to learn and access teaching during these difficult times. The school will support all families by ensuring that they can access the intended learning. Further details of the remote learning will be shared on Tuesday 5th January 2021.

If you have any concerns or worries regarding the closure of the school, please do not hesitate to email us and a member of the of Senior Leadership Team will get back to you on Monday 4th January. In the meantime, I wish you all a very happy and safe new year.

Thank you for your continued support.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Kate Bass

    Head Teacher

  • Change to the end of term date

    Fri 11 Dec 2020

    Dear Families,

Following the announcement from the Government and Department for Education with regards to school closures for Christmas, we would like to inform you that we are going to use Friday 18th December as an INSET day. As a result of this, school will be closed to all children. The autumn term will officially end on Thursday 17th December 2020 at the usual staggered time.

This decision takes into account the DfE recommendation that schools provide “six clear days” to manage any track and trace communication before Christmas Eve.

If your child tests positive up until and including the 23rd of December, please let us know by texting 07561360435 and using the following message:

My child, ………………..(name, class name, year group) has tested positive for Covid-19 on ……. (date of test).

Please note that you will receive a follow up call from Ms Bass or Mrs Patel once your message has been received. This follow up phone call will allow us to ensure that we have all the information we need to support the track and trace system.

All children will return to school on Wednesday 6th January 2021, providing they do not display any symptoms of Covid -19, and they are not isolating due to contact with an affected person.

  • Christmas/Winter Jumper Day donations

    Thu 10 Dec 2020

    Update:

Thanks to our wonderful and generous school community, we have raised enough money to run the food project over the Christmas holidays.

This has been a very challenging time for some of our families who may have lost work and now find themselves in financial difficulty. You may remember that during the October half-term we ran a food project here, in the school playground. We gave away 100 hot meals each day to our families and people in the local community. We were also supported by a parent who donated bread and cakes every day, which really helped our families out. I would like run the project again over the Christmas break, but we need your help. We need to raise £300 to provide hot meals over five days.

So, this Friday, Christmas Jumper and Christmas lunch day we are asking for a gold coin donation from each child, which will go towards covering the cost of the project.

If you can, please send your donation in with your child on Friday and we can make sure that every child gets a hot meal over the holidays if they need it.

Thank you for your continued support; we will come though this pandemic knowing that we have helped each other.
